Don’t Diet, Live It!
Dyan, a health & weight loss coach, was raised in Williamson County, Tennessee where she currently resides. She played sports from an early age and went to college to play softball and earn a Civil Engineering degree. While in college, she learned about food and exercise and their impacts on her body, mind, and confidence. She realized the importance of a healthy eating and exercise regimen and lost over 50 pounds by the time she graduated. She went to work in the corporate engineering field, where she was very successful and earned many awards from engineering professional associations. However, she found a niche for helping coworkers, friends, and family lose weight and get healthy.
In 2010, she left her job in civil engineering and started Coach D Consulting. She offers individual, family, and corporate coaching. With an overload of diet products, yet record-breaking obesity and related health issues, our country is in desperate need to live a healthier lifestyle. With better nutrition and exercise, individuals and families can add years to their life and life to their years.
This book offers an entire year’s worth of inspirational stories, tips, and recipes. No matter what day you decide to stop dieting and start living, you can pick up this book and get started! You will soon be on your way to living a healthy life – one that is sustainable and fun – for many years to come!
This book is a summary of my research, trials, choices, mistakes, and triumphs. Each chapter represents a month of the year. You can start this book, just like you can choose to change your life, at any moment, on any day, in any year. My stories, more than 50 recipes, and fitness tips are meant to inspire you. They are not rules – they are motivators. They are not trendy – they are timeless.
I found what works and what doesn’t because I lived through it. I know that a healthy life can be attainable, sustainable, and fun. I stopped dieting and started living. And this book will prove that you can too!
I encourage you to try my recipes and meal ideas as inspiration. If you are missing an ingredient, leave it out. If your family prefers raspberries over strawberries, broccoli over asparagus, or chicken over fish, swap it out. And I also urge you to get the entire family – kids and adults – involved. You are never too young or too old to cook in the kitchen or get physically active!
